Richard Wilde, chair of the BFA graphic design department at the School of Visual Arts, asked me to faculty advise and creative direct the school yearbook in the spring of 2003. I decided to set it up as a class so that I could help students create a real client project. The school is a rare and excellent client because they give us complete freedom and are always supportive of the results. The books are quite wonderful every year thanks to very talented students.
